Ms. Valerie opened Honey Bunch in 1987 after her first daughter, Sharon, was born and she could find no suitable child care options. Honey Bunch grew into a three program daycare, educating and caring for hundreds of children across New York. Ms. Valerie's success was rooted in her firm belief that all children only needed lots of love and care to thrive in the world.
Ms. Valerie also strongly believed in the importance of a second language. In the early 2000's, after becoming the principal and director of the U.N.I.S German School, she also introduced the language immersion program at Honey Bunch. She loved teaching her students traditional Austrian and German songs especially for the yearly "laternenfest"!
Ms. Valerie passed away in 2016 but we continue to honor her teachings through an endless supply of love and care for our honey bunches.
Her second daughter, Anna, is now the owner and director.
